COVID-19 Data Collection - Placement Gap
Health Education England is utilising the ‘Clinical Professions – COVID-19 Training Data Tool’ to collect information on any placement shortfall/gap originating due to COVID-19.
Through this tool, HEE is collecting key data related to:
- Total placement hours lost to date (in hours)
- Total placement hours gap (anticipated to be unrecoverable/caught-up in remaining programme length) (in hours)
- Number of affected students by this unrecoverable gap (headcount)
- Anticipated placement gap for new cohorts (in hours)
The data collection this supports will enable HEE to understand current and future student activity, enable informed discussions with regulators and policy makers, and ensure organisations and their students are supported to complete training in new ways during these unprecedented circumstances.
This data will help HEE to discuss policy intentions and to provide guidance across England on maximising opportunities for student placements.
